Solar arrays and a substation on a warm highland landscape; an original conceptual energy infrastructure scene

Independent power producer · IPP

We understand mining.
And power in Africa.

We develop, build, own and operate renewable power plants for the long term. Through power purchase agreements (PPAs), we provide reliable supply tailored to mining and industrial production.

IPP partnerships · Long-term power

We own and operate the plant.
You buy power for the long term.

Through our own investment or joint development, the project company builds, owns and operates the plant. A long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) defines supply and offtake responsibilities, connecting project development, asset operation and mining demand in a lasting partnership.

Power development and asset operations

  • Develop projects and coordinate capital and engineering
  • Build and own solar and storage plants
  • Manage operations, maintenance, metering and settlement

Production needs and power procurement

  • Provide load profiles, shifts and production requirements
  • Coordinate the site, connection and production windows
  • Purchase and pay for power under the long-term agreement

Customer contributions, asset boundaries and service scope are defined in the project agreement.

Define the long-term responsibilities

Four responsibilities, agreed in the PPA.

Supply and offtake
Define the supply scope, energy volumes, purchase obligations and coordination with existing sources.
Reliability and backup
Specify availability requirements, backup arrangements, maintenance and incident response.
Tariff, metering and settlement
Agree on power prices and adjustment mechanisms, metering points, settlement periods and reconciliation.
Production changes and expansion
Agree on how to assess and accommodate changing loads, production growth and plant expansion.

From development to long-term power supply

  1. Assess development

Validate loads, site conditions and existing sources; compare configurations and delivery pathways.

  2. Sign the PPA

Agree on supply and offtake responsibilities, tariffs, metering and settlement.

  3. Capital and permits

Organize own and partner capital, and progress market access, approvals and licenses.

  4. Deliver the plant

Coordinate construction, commissioning and phased connection around production windows.

  5. Operate and supply

Maintain and operate the plant, meter and settle power, and support production over the long term.

Serve the mine. Extend the value of the asset.

Mining loads anchor the long-term supply plan. Once supply obligations are met and connection and trading conditions permit, surplus power can serve nearby businesses and communities. Dispatch, metering and distribution capabilities support the asset over its operating life.
